ABOUT FASTPITCH HITTERS HOME FOUNDER.

Roger Convertino, a girls’ fastpitch hitting instructor in the San Jose area of Northern California.

I have been teaching and coaching fastpitch softball at the High School Varsity level and ASA travel level since 1987. In the fall of 2003, I decided to give up head coaching in order to teach girl’s fastpitch hitting. Teaching hitting is strictly a hobby for me and is not a for-profit endeavor. I limit my number of private students to 8 - 12. My students range from 12-19 years of age. Their levels are from recreational league softball to College.

Teaching two nights a week allows me to work with each student for a 30 min. session once a week. I work with teams in a clinic style lesson of 4 - 6 students for one hour. I will also visit my students’ games during their high school season, or on occasion watch a tournament that they may be playing in.

FASTPITCH HITTERS HOME explains in detail how to evaluate a fast pitch softball-hitting student and what methods to use to help each student improve hitting performance. This will include outlining goals for students’ improvement and how to set these goals with each student.

In the future this website will include drills in a PDF format and video to explain a step-by-step outline that has been used successfully with students. It will also include the results that have been achieved. These drills are used every week with the students and will address issues and solutions for many problems that hitters face.
